Morecambe Bay Walk 24th June 2007

Only one river to cross today!

Leader of the pack!

Kent's Bank Station

The ticket collector with the shaven head said those travelling to Arnside
could travel free of charge . a truly wonderful gesture!

Crossing the viaduct to Arnside

The promised rain arrived whilst on the train!"

All clear after few minutes

The sun breaks through

Cedric sets a cracking pace .......... viaduct in the background

Time to strip off .......... the shoes etc!

Bare foot

Cedric tells of the dangers of the sands

No turning back now John, there's not a train for ages!

Some travel the easy way

That dog will die if it shakes itself dry next to me!

This dog could well die of it's own accord

The complete walker

Checking the GPS

See those mountains, clear as a bell!

Cedric answers endless questions

Getting ready for the final assault

The plan is nearly ready

Steady here only a narrow path through the treacherous quick sands

The red line down the coast and across is a GPS record of the 6 mile walk
Time taken roughly 3 hours including numerous stops.

What a great day out and thanks to the waiting room shelter at
Arnside railway station we didn't get wet ... well , 2 of us didn't!
