In May 20X1 John wants to take us from Knott End for a short cruise across the river Wyre to Fleetwood where we will take lunch at The North Euston Hotel. His problem is that the tides must be favourable for both crossing to, and for the return journey back to Knott End. What follows next is a series of pictures that will illustrate his problem!
The starting point, The Knott End Cafe, with adjacent car parking facilities, and easy access to the ferry jetty.
The notice board below suggests you need to be in Fleetwood to know if the ferry is operating or not, not too helpful really when you are across the water in Knott End! Poor John!
Mud mud, glorious mud, nothing quite like it for cooling the blood, and the thirst inducing long walk to the waters edge which is only marginally reduced when the tide is in and the ferry can be boarded.
In the distance our destination, The North Euston Hotel, a journey back in time!
