The Hassall family is one of the five hockey families operating in Preston. It was formed by Clifford Hassall and the two men who would later become his caporegimes, Neil Hassall and Richard Sullivan, who fronted their operations by starting the Preston Sports Club, named after Cliff's Consigliere, Tony Creasey.
They became the most powerful hockey family in England after defeating Bowden in the early 1960s, and by the end of the decade the organization was run from an all weather pitch in Lower Penwortham, Penwortham Holme.
