Le Mans 24 Hour 2005

From Lancashire to La Ville aux Clerc via Folkestone, Dover, Channel Ferry, Calais, and Lyons la Foret.

Fabulous weather, beautiful scenery, fantastic tarmac, little or no traffic, and good companions too.

I wouldn't have joined the Jaguar Drivers Club if I knew I had to do all this
confounded cleaning every time I went out!!!

You may have thought this picture of an XKR 'Silverstone' was taken from a Jaguar sales brochure, and if you did you'd be wrong!
It's John Birchalls car which he took to Le Mans and nonchalantly used the hotels front lawn to show off it's superb design and colour!

Friday's Pit Walk

The famous Rolex time piece that records the elapsed time of the 24 hour endurance race and monitors the temperature and wind speed! Seeing it is enough to set the pulse racing!

This just has to be the best picture of them all!
Well done Elaine!

Just look at those wheels!! A sight not often seen!

John talks us through his run down the Mulsanne!!

It must be old it has yellow bulbs!

Some fruit machine this is, it won't take a credit card!

There is a hole in my (canvas) bucket dear Henry!

Suave and French, eh monsieur!?

Mulsanne Village Hall - 6.45am

More car's than ever!

Some extraordinarily nice car's too

Nigel in his MK 1 motorised billboard

The Murray boy's car, too good to hurry, they say!

This car's from Wi gin!

I used to like these!

'Overtake on the left' the man said! These hard of hearing old-boy racers thought he said 'Keep left!'

This is where the duel in the sun should have commenced ............... and didn't!

Preparing for The Legends Race at 11.00 am

Elaine is smiling because her steak and chips are under the table, the light salad is actually mine!

Nic and friends chat in a tent!

You are now looking at a dream, an illusion, both of which are John Birchalls.

Preparing for the 'big one'. Who will win? Can it possibly be Audi once more?

How I once wanted, and admired an Aston ....... NOW all I want is a Jaguar ALC

JB says 'JB I presume?' when he meets JB 1, 2 and 3 in hospitality.

With a smile like this, this has to be the happiest man at Le Mans! I'd go million miles for one of your smiles!

This has be the most pedantic car park security guard ever born!

Lagonda's

An invited pit walk

Fantastic! Just fantasic!!

Perhaps it was all the walkin', or even the talkin' that made Elaine so tired! Sleep on girl, sleep on!

Cars as arranged personally by Nigel ..... can YOU see the E-Types?

Now here we have Nigels masterpiece!

OK .... I'm working on something smart to say!

You have seen all those pictures, and lingered once or twice too, even so I've still not finished cleaning this car, but hopefully I will have soon!

That all for now folks ..... I'm leaving the building!
